The NEP 2020 is the National Educational Policy of 2020. it’s a comprehensive framework for education in India. The key objectives of this policy are the inclusivity and equality of education by reducing disparities in education. The changes made by NEP 2020 allows the following:

1. Focuses on multidisciplinary learning: students can now combine subjects that they want to explore from different streams allowing them to develop a diverse skill set, for e.g.. Taking biology and economics. Unlike the rigid stream system that was prevalent in CBSE board prior to NEP 2020.
2. Flexibility: Allows students to choose careers from various streams, giving the students an opportunity to choose a career from various disciplines.
3. Vocational Education: enables students to develop industry specific skills which allows for enhancing soft and hard skills needed for the career they pursue unlike the rigorous and expansive knowledge to rote learn like in ICSE prior to NEP 2020.
4. Reduced Content: The reduction of content allows students to focus on developing skills and interests beyond academics. Unlike in IB Boards
5. Inclusion of languages: This inclusivity of learning 3 different languages at the primary level, specially emphasising on the regional language helps in cultural understanding. Provides us an opportunity to work or choose careers related to language or international careers.
